A laugh-out-loud comedy about a taboo subject, Growth is bursting with wit and snazzy one-liners.

By Luke Norris

Presented by Paines Plough Theatre Co.

“Achingly funny and tender...Of the hundreds of shows at the Fringe, few feel as necessary as this.” - Financial Times

“It’s not my job to fix you” Beth tells her boyfriend, Tobes, as she dumps him for being boring after two years together.

Pretty soon, Tobes has to fix more than his broken heart and his dreary hand-to-mouth existence (always behind with the rent, always borrowing from his mum). That’s because he has a lump on his lower region – a lump he’s been ignoring for the last two years, just as he’s been ignoring everything else that is wrong in his life, including the fact that he doesn’t like his job.

Can Tobes man up and sort himself out?

“A league or two above anything but the pick of the Fringe...deeply moving.” - British Theatre Guide
