6 Feet, 3 Shoes
A stirring mix of dance, theatre and live music, telling of friendships forged across cultures.
This exhilarating performance features 3 dancers and 2 live musicians. Chock full of percussive Flamenco, Scottish and Contemporary dance, live music (on Scottish fiddle and Flamenco guitar) and storytelling, 6 Feet, 3 Shoes brings vividly to life a true story of friendships that cross borders and generations.
The story introduces us to three woman – all dancers – who met, shared their experiences and lives through their indigenous dance and music and forged a common language. They formed a new culture, new connections and life-long family connections.
Touring of 6 Feet, 3 Shoes follows hot on the heels of a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2019 and a Total Theatre Award nomination for Best Dance Production.
Audiences can look forward to:
- Expressive dance, storytelling, song, humour, traditional foot stomping music and rhythms, tender moments and a good old giggle
- A performance that speaks directly to them about real life experiences
- An emotional and visual journey to connect with and remember
- For those who have been to Scotland or Spain, recognisable images and common experiences of the Scottish and Spanish cultures and traditional arts
“balances performance and informal storytelling perfectly. The audience is left reeling after a whirlwind of ceildhs, motherhood and everything in between” Broadway Baby
“6 Feet, 3 Shoes is hugely accessible, with a human story of diverse communities and warmth of spirit which many audiences will relate to. It has the added pleasure of live music, an unusual and therefore precious addition to any production.” MORAG DEYES, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF DANCEBASE
