Arcadia    (12A)

A provocative and poetic film – a sensory journey into the beauty and brutality, magic and madness of our changing relationship with the land and with each other.

Archive film combines with a grand, expressive new score by Adrian Utley (Portishead) and Will Gregory (Goldfrapp). From the earliest days of movie-making to the present day, through rare and unseen footage, we see the changing relationship the British have with their land. From images of local celebrations and festivals to agricultural practices through the seasons, village life and lost crafts.

“At once a celebration and elegy, warning and fairy tale, this is a striking, troubling and above all intoxicating film” Daily Telegraph

“Arcadia is a seductive piece of work. Approach it as you might a rich and strange piece of music” The Guardian
