Emma (U)

Most recent film adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved classic novel set in the 1800s in England based on a well meaning but selfish young woman who meddles in the love lives of her friends.

The film ramps up the comedy whilst maintaining a heady mix of social satire, romantic intrigue and endlessly reinterpretable gender politics.  Starring Anya Taylor-Joy with support from Miranda Hart, Bill Nighy and Rupert Graves.
