Josie Duncan is an award-winning singer and songwriter from the Outer Hebrides. Steeped in Gaelic tradition from a young age and now deeply immersed in the vibrant Glasgow music scene, Josie’s singing is phosphorescent, effortlessly bridging the gap between Scotland’s traditional music and the adventurous tastes of its young inhabitants.
Since winning BBC Radio 2’s Young Folk award in 2017 alongside guitarist Pablo Lafuente, Josie has appeared on main stages of festivals the country over and regularly appears with her own band, five piece fusion band INYAL and exciting new collaboration The Tweed Project.
Josie’s solo show encompasses all her influences and distils them into a captivating mixture of loops, ethereal airs, original songs and intimate accompaniment. Unburdened by genre, this spellbinding set is guaranteed to leave audiences rapt.
Accompanied by fellow INYAL band-member Hamish Macleod.
Having begun his musical career learning and performing traditional music, Hamish’s work now encompasses electronic, jazz and orchestral styles. His own bands have performed headline slots at major music festivals around the country and have been nominated for prestigious awards, while work with other musicians has seen him travel all over Europe and beyond.
