Lasses Out Loud

Two outstanding musicians from the Cumbrian scene present exclusive sets for Kirkgate Arts.

Both have made several appearances at Cockermouth Live! Festival.

Katie Gentry

A rare chance to see a live solo performance from Cockermouth-based Katie. Former singer and lyricist with The Gardenelles, she has lately been maker of all manner of noise with Pecker – vocals, guitar, fiddle…

Katie’s solo material is having a dusting off exclusively for Kirkgate Arts. She will mix original songs with hand-picked covers from artists such as Sharon Van Etten and Iron & Wine.

music is ethereal, emotional alternative pop that’s as enchanting as it is experimental.

A small town girl, Ciara grew up in rural cumbria. She now resides in Carlisle, performing locally & nationally as her creative ambient persona marblmoon.

Her debut EP Glitter and Gold was released in May 2019. Drawing influences from pioneering contemporary female artists First Aid Kit, Phoebe Bridgers and Florence & The Machine, Marblmoon moves confidently between dream-pop, indie, folk and experimental sounds while staying true to her own personality and vision.

As part of BBC Introducing her music has been played on local and regional radio and has been featured in magazines & blogs all over the UK, EU & Ireland.

When she is not playing packed-out festival tents covered in glitter & banging a drum, you will find Ciara eating mashed potato and dancing to 70’s witch-rock.
