The Winterling
A brilliantly twisted comedy thriller about living on the edge.
In a derelict Dartmoor farmhouse at the height of winter, West, a London gangster exiled by the Mob, anxiously awaits the visit of his old mate Wally and his stepson, Patsy. But how did he get there, who is the girl upstairs, and what part does the tramp, Draycott, play?
As the plot unfolds, the three gangsters engage in a desperate struggle for survival, with more than one life in danger.
Winterling is by Jez Butterworth (Jerusalem and The Ferryman, currently in the West End), one of Britain’s best living playwrights, and had a successful run recently at the Theatre by the Lake.
