You Don’t Know Me But…

A one-woman audio play performed live over the phone

“You Don’t know me Duck. You don’t know me. But I reckon we’ve met before.”

Meet Vick. Care giver, Mother, Partner and Daughter.

You’ve almost certainly walked past her in the street, stood behind her in a queue or driven past her in your car. Today, take the time to delve a little deeper. Experience a day in her life. Hear her thoughts and feelings as a busy day at work slowly uncovers a deeply buried memory of care.

Inspired by real memories and interviews from a care home, this innovative piece tells the hidden stories of care across generations. This unique play celebrates the dedication and spirit of workers and residents in care homes across the UK.

An Intimate, Immersive Live Performance, giving audience members a unique and moving theatre experience in their own homes at a time when live face-to-face theatre performance is not possible.

Using live music, beautiful writing and immersive sound effects this is a unique approach to socially distanced theatre.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

A friendly stage manager calls you and welcomes you to The Telephone Theatre.

After a quick hello they show you through to the virtual auditorium where the show takes place.

Settle down in the comfort of your own home and listen in to this live audio theatre experience, all performed over the phone.

The sound of an excited audience takes over and gradually hushes as the show begins.

You’re met by Vick, rushing through breakfast and getting ready to leave for work.

Vick is a care worker in a residential home. As her working day progresses, hear her running from place to place, helping residents to dress, keeping them calm and offering a friendly ear to talk to.

But today, something is different. The day’s encounters gradually uncover a deeply hidden memory and Vick finds herself transported back to her childhood, where a traumatic incident changes her outlook forever.

FREE – but please book to secure your personal performance.
