Create your own masterpieces, with plenty of tips and guidance from visual artist Celia Burbush

Using some of the rich archive at the Cockermouth Heritage Group as a starting point, Celia has created 3 films covering a glorious array of artists and designers, and some useful art techniques.

Using basic art materials, follow her easy step-by-step instructions to create your own artwork. She’ll be there to hold your hand through the whole process.

Not only is the project FREE to join, everyone who submits a completed artwork at the end of it will receive a £10 voucher to spend with Kirkgate Arts (including the Arts Out West Rural Touring Programme)

Each week, Celia will post a film onto the Facebook group site – each one exploring a different archive item, and using different media. There are 3 films altogether. This is also where you can share your work. Don’t worry if you don’t do Facebook – you can contact Celia direct – see the Factsheet.

At the end of the process, we’ll display selected artworks online – and hopefully have a physical exhibition, if circumstances allow.

See Celia’s introductory video below; and download this factsheet for more details: Make It Now Fact Sheet
Places are limited – please register by NOON on MONDAY 14 here to join up now to the Facebook group

And here are the texts which Celia will use to inspire your work:
