The Kirkgate Centre was established by a dedicated band of volunteers. Volunteering remains at the heart of Kirkgate Arts – Arts Out West activities are run by voluntary local promoters and most of our roles at the Kirkgate are voluntary.

Time for something new? There are so many Volunteer Opportunities with us…

If you are interested in film, music, theatre, community events, would like to gain valuable work experience or are simply looking for a new challenge and a way to meet new people, then volunteering with Kirkgate Arts is for you. We always welcome new volunteers and offer a high level of support and training.

The Kirkgate Centre

At the Kirkgate Centre we have an exciting and ever-changing array of opportunities. Roles range from Box Office staff to Film Projectionists; from Bar Staff to Sound Engineers.

We are currently looking for Duty Managers and daytime Box Office Volunteers.

No experience is necessary for these roles, as training will be provided. If you are interested in either of these roles or volunteering within any other area at The Kirkgate, please pop in for an informal chat.

You can also contact Jocelyn West at the Kirkgate on or 01900 829966 to discuss volunteering at Kirkgate Arts further.

Arts Out West

Arts Out West events are all managed by local volunteers – who will be pleased to know if you could help out. There are many ways to get involved, from distributing publicity to serving refreshments, to getting involved in selecting shows.

If your local community doesn’t currently benefit from Arts Out West presentations, perhaps you’d like to take the initiative and become a promoter. To learn more, contact Chris Bridgman at or call 01900 829966.

How do I get started?
